PONDA: The 6th edition of the Daivadnya Carrom Tournament 2026 was successfully held on July 26 at Daivadnya Hall, Ponda, with more than 85 players participating across different age categories.
The tournament was organised by the Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association and Ponda Daivadnya Brahmin Samaj, with support from the Goa Carrom Association. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, highlighting the growing popularity of carrom among players of different age groups.
Smt. Sampada Amey Nagvekar, Secretary of AGDBYA, and Mr. Deepak Lotlikar, President of Ponda Daivadnya Samaj, welcomed the guests and participants.
The tournament was attended by Mr. Sunil Pandurang Karekar, retired Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department, as the chief guest.
During the event, young cricketer Mast. Shaurya Prajyot Chodankar was also felicitated for his achievements in cricket.
In the Kids category, Aarush Lotlikar emerged as the winner, while Shriyan Vernekar finished runner up. Alka Chodankar claimed the Women’s title, with Shruti Vernekar taking second place.
The Veterans category was won by Shyamrao Raikar, while Guiresh Bandodkar finished runner up. In the Men’s category, Rahul Lotlikar secured the championship, with Rutvik Nagzarkar finishing as runner up.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to the sponsors, players, volunteers and supporters whose contributions helped make the tournament a success.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by AGDBYA Treasurer Rahul Lotlikar. Organisers also expressed confidence that the tournament will return next year with greater participation and enthusiasm.
