Rainfall activity over Goa is very likely to witness an increase with effect from September 19 due to cyclonic circulation over West Central Bay of Bengal informed IMD-Goa.
The department has issued orange colour alert for 3 days from Sept 19 to Sept 21. Very Heavy Rainfall (Rainfall exceeding 11.5 cm in 24 hours) is very likely at 3 to 4 places over North and South Goa on 19th, 20th and 21st September.
Extremely Heavy Rainfall (Rainfall exceeding 20.5 cm in 24 hours) is likely at one or two places over North and South Goa on 19th, 20th and 21st September.
Winds of speed 30-40kmph is very likely over North and South Goa districts during the same period states the IMD release. Fisherman have been advised not to venture into the seas.
IMD has also warned about uprooting of weak trees and localized power interruptions.
