Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Thursday said that the beds in COVID hospitals will be made available to all patients and there would be no VIP culture.
After the expert committee this afternoon to discuss several treatment measures for COVID-19, Rane said government is doing everything possible to fight COVID19.
“Beds to be made available to all patients in need and there would be no VIP culture,”he said.
He said the team is working persistently to ensure all our patients are given quality healthcare services.
“We shall inspect the South Goa District Hospital tomorrow which will start operation from Saturday with 150 beds initially and will be taken up to 350 beds,” he said.
Rane also said that th expert committee decided that patients coming to ward-148 with symptoms to be treated in COVID ward to ensure there’s no delay in providing medical assistance to critical patients.
“Anaesthesia technicians that are being trained will be deployed to monitor the oxygen supply to patients either in the ward or remotely.
SOP to be developed to ensure all patients whether mild, moderate or severe get oxygen on a timely basis,” he said. adding the ward 115 under the Pulmonary Medicine department at GMC will be ready by Tuesday.
“With regard to some alterations in the Home Isolation Kit, the kit will now include – Pulse-oxymeter, Doxycycline, Vitamin C tablets, Zinc tablets & Ivermecticin (in line with the UP govt protocol),” he says.
