RIVONA: Quepem Police have registered a case following a complaint by HC 4224 Sanjiv Patil regarding a road accident at Addem, Rivona, on October 4.
According to the complaint, Abhay Gaonkar of Kajur, Quepem, was allegedly riding a Yamaha motorcycle rashly and negligently while travelling from Tilamole towards Rivona Bazar. At Addem, the motorcycle allegedly moved onto the wrong side of the road and collided with an oncoming Jupiter scooter.
The scooter rider, Shridhar Redkar, and pillion rider, Sapna Redkar, both from Zambavlim, Rivona, fell onto the road and sustained injuries.
The motorcycle rider and his pillion rider, Tejas Gaonkar, also fell following the collision. Police allege that both subsequently left the accident spot without providing medical assistance to the injured or informing the police.
Further investigation is being conducted by HC 4224 Sanjiv Patil of Quepem Police Station.
