PANAJI: Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) President and North Goa Candidate Manoj Parab today said that political parties in Goa are now asking for votes in the name of religion by saying “Religion is in Danger”.
Manoj Parab was addressing the press conference in the presence of St Andre RGP MLA Viresh Borkar and other state leaders.
“If you go see, the trend has changed in Goa elections, that political parties in Goa are now asking votes in name of religion by saying “Religion is in Danger,” said Parab.
He further said that in this process, the political parties forget about the Constitution and democracy.
Speaking further, Parab said that his party received many offers during the Lok Sabha campaigning for backing out of elections but they do not know that RGP was not born for backing out.
“In the past Goans have only seen politics of compromise and I am saying that RGP never fall under compromise politics” he added.
Parab said that RGP has a massive chance of winning the Lok Sabha polls for the simple reason being that people are sick of these Congress and BJP.
“People of Goa want a change, our main agenda is to bring an end to the dictatorship of the BJP government and to protect the democratic framework of the country,” he added.
“Also, our aim is to oppose the policies of the Centre which are detrimental to the common man,” he added.
He further said that RGP wants to be a voice of Goa and Goans at the national level which the national parties have failed to be.
“We want to protect the unique identity of Goans and want to raise Goa’s voices on issues like Mhadei, coal hub, double tracking, mining, jobs for Goans in Central agencies,” he added.
