PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today assured to start renovations works of The Chieftain’s Memorial at Cuncolim at the earliest.
LoP Yuri had raised the issue in the house that works have still not started despite CM Sawant’s assurance.
“Process has started, we will start work very soon,” said Sawant.
Alemao said that Cuncolim Chieftain’s Memorial occupies an important place in Goa’s history, with the memorial symbolising the first revolution against colonial powers in India.
“I had requested Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to take up the beautification and renovation work on the Chieftain’s Memorial,” said Alemao
He said that the Chief Minister had agreed to the suggestion after my Private Member’s resolution on the inclusion of the 1583 Cuncolim Revolt was unanimously adopted on the floor of the House,” Yuri recalled.
