PANAJI: The Directorate of Women and Child Development has clarified that the news item published on certain local dailies on Disbursement of benefits for the beneficiaries of Ladli Laxmi Scheme’ is completely fake, smacks of ulterior motive to misguide the people of the State of Goa and to tarnish the image of the State Government.
The Department of WCD has informed that on deposit of an amount of Rs. 37 crores and 49 lakh in the Nodal Banks (HDFC, State Bank of India) department has sanctioned 3749 applications of Ladli Laxmi Scheme in the month of June, 2021.
“Those beneficiaries who have collected the original documents and produced it in the bank from July 5, 2021 onwards have already been in receipt of the amount in their account under the scheme,” says a DIP press release.
It said that for the smooth disbursement under the scheme and to avoid large numbers of gathering, the department has started issuing token numbers on a daily basis and accordingly the beneficiaries are called on a specified date to initiate the disbursement process. On the day of disbursement the original documents of Laadli Laxmi Scheme are handed over to the beneficiary which has to be presented in the beneficiary bank.
“The amount will be credited in the beneficiary bank account, once the original documents are deposited in the concerned bank of the beneficiary,” the release said.
Further, DIP says, under the Griha Aadhar Scheme on July 06, 2021 an amount of Rs. 18, 08, 08,500/- have already been deposited in the HDFC Bank and disbursement under process. There is no need to produce income certificates issued by the Mamlatdar for fresh cases. The cases which are marked to be doubtful have to produce the income certificate issued by the Mamlatdars. List of these doubtful cases is already available with the respective Taluka Mamlatdars.
The department has appealed to the applicants not to panic and has informed that every applicant those who are eligible will get benefit under the scheme.
