PANAJI: The Goa University conducted the Inter Collegiate Judo Championship 2023-24 for Men and Women on 22nd to 25th August 2023 at the Jubilee Hall, Goa University. Around 81 Men and 70 Women athletes from various affiliated colleges participated in 7 different weight categories.
MEN’S CATEGORY:
Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim were the overall champions and Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sanquelim won Runners-up position in Men Category and the third place was shared between Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Shiroda; PES’s Ravi S Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi; Goa College of Agriculture, Old Goa and VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao.
Best Judoka-Men was awarded to Sahil Khanvilkar of VVM’s Shree Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Margao.
The Chief guest of the championship Dr. Manoj Hede, College Director of Physical Education and Sports, Kare College of Law, Margao along with Guest of honour Mr. Mir Dias, Judo Coach, Sports Authority of Goa graced the occasion and presented the medals and trophies to the winners.
