The North Goa Collectorate in association with Blood Bank, Goa Medical College, Bambolim today held a half Day screening camp for Plasma Donors from North Goa at the Miramar Residency. Total 13 Corona Survivors screened for Plasma Donation.
Informing about the camp, Dy. Collector, Panaji Gurudas Desai informed, “This is for the first time in North Goa we are organising such a camp. The screening camp will save time that is required in the proceedings of Plasma Donation. We contacted Corona Survivors in North Goa. Having a joint screening will be a great morale booster for donors as well as their families. I appeal Corona survivors, symptomatic as well as asymptomatic, to donate their plasma as it can save someone’s life,” he stated.
Dr. Sachin Palyekar from GMC blood bank said, “Before donating Plasma, the person is screened and tested for antibodies. A person can donate Plasma only when he/she carries the right blood volume or antibodies. We shall take blood samples of the donors, and after testing, people fulfilling the fitness criteria will be called for Plasma donation. Plasma donation does not make a person weak. Hence, please come forward fearlessly to save someone’s life.”
