Since Friday afternoon, doctors associated with the Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) have been on strike, demanding justice for the victim of the R G Kar Medical College in Kolkata.
Emergency services are still being provided, but regular services have been somewhat impacted by the strike, according to Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, dean of GMC.
He claimed that because of the strike, the hospital is performing emergency procedures while “dated operations” are rescheduled.
According to Dr. Bandekar, the Out Patient Departments are operating efficiently since they are overseen by senior physicians. According to him, new admissions are also accepted.
