VASCO: Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, in the presence of Ward Councillor Deepak Naik and others, inaugurated sewerage improvement works in Baina on Monday morning. The project, costing ₹10 lakh, aims to provide households in the area with proper sewerage connectivity and address issues of sewage overflow.
Speaking to the media after the launch, MLA Salkar said, “It has been our government’s vision to ensure every house is connected to the sewerage line. We have been identifying areas across the Vasco constituency without sewerage connectivity and proposing to lay pipelines in those areas. We have also proposed sewage pumping stations in Orulem, Mestawada, Sai Nagar, and Kharewado. These proposals are now being cleared one by one, and we are subsequently launching works to ensure proper sewerage connections. After the Baina project, houses in this area will no longer face sewerage-related issues.”
Salkar also emphasized the government’s commitment to comprehensive development in Vasco. “We have lined up several developmental projects to revamp the Vasco constituency. In 15 days, we will begin the beautification of Swatantra Path. Once underground cabling is completed, we will eliminate the HT and LT overhead electrical lines and ensure an improved power supply in Vasco,” he said.
The MLA also outlined plans for major infrastructure and recreational facilities in the area. “We will launch a sports city complex at Tanya Ground, renovate Bhute Bhat Ground with floodlights, and introduce a synthetic walking track. Additionally, we will soon begin work on the Up Ramp from Vasco and a new mutton and chicken market with a one-plus-one building structure. The Vasco Garden project is also in the pipeline. Our aim is to take Vasco’s development to the next level,” Salkar added.
