PONDA: Commuters travelling through Rashole – Shiroda Ferry faces hardship after a small-sized ferryboat pressed into Service. The Commuters had demanded to restore the service of the previously larger ferry boat used on the route.
According to Commuter since for more than a month, they have been facing hardship after the two ferryboats on route one were Shifted elsewhere, replacing small-size ferry into service.
Milind Naik, a local, said since then, it has become difficult for employees, commuters and officegoers to reach their Work Place. He said many people from Sanvordem and Shiroda travels towards Margao, Nesai and other places as it is the short cut route , however during rush hours, the small size ferry causes problems for reaching the on time at the workplace as many of the passengers can’t accommodate to board in this ferry due to its small size forcing many to wait at the Ferry wharf until another ferry returns which causes them to delay.
Further, incase of any four-wheeler makes entry into this small-size ferryboat it prevents many bike riders from getting into ferry boat due to limited space. This results in clashes between ferry staff and commuters who can’t board into ferry boat to reach on time at their workplace.
Therefore the commuters, as well as locals, are demanding to restore of the previous larger size ferryboat on this route.
Commuters on Rashol- Shiroda Ferry demand big-size Ferry boat in service. Commuters are upset as suddenly small-size Ferry boat was deputed for service on Rashol – Shiroda ferry route, causes inconvenience. It causes delay to commuters, employe and office goers travelling towards Shiroda, Rashol, Margao via ferryboat.
