PANAJI: Union Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna has said that discussions are ongoing between the Chief Ministers of Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka regarding the Mhadei River diversion issue, while assuring that the interests of all the concerned states will be protected.
Speaking on the long-pending Mhadei issue, Somanna stated that Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka are “one” and emphasized the need for a coordinated approach to resolve the matter.
He said the Chief Ministers of the three states are engaged in discussions and expressed confidence that the concerns of every state would be safeguarded.
The Union Minister further asserted that under the leadership of the Modi government, all issues related to the Mhadei dispute would be resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding.
