MARGAO: Sporting Club Virabhat got the better of Sanduel Sports Club 2-1 to enter into the quarterfinals of Batora United 9-a-side football tournament Organised by Batora United and played at St.Alex Church ground.
In an exciting match sporting club, Virabhat had the first opportunity to score through Veslon Dias in the 10th minute while Sanduel had the opportunity through Peter Barreto in the 24th minute of play Virabhat scored the first goal through Venson Paes with neat placement and remained 1-0 lead at the half time
In the second session of play, Sanduel SC Tony dias and Jovial Dias missed the opportunity on many occasions and then Sporting Club Virabhat inflated the lead through Venson Paes in the 40th minute of play then Sanduel SC Jovial Dias beat the defence and goalkeeper and placed the ball in the net at the last quarter of the match to complete his brace and Sanduel missed the chance to level the score when Ralf dias powerful shoot hit the crossbar and went out of play.
Venson Paes of Sporting Club Virabhat was awarded man of the match for his outstanding performance by Franky Rebello president of Batora United.
