ST CRUZ: According to the villagers and former Sarpanch of Santa Cruz village panchayat, there are a lot of scams going on at the feast fair.
The Salt Lake Ground in Santa Cruz is the location of the village feast fair. According to the former Sarpanch, the Panchayat has given vendors shops without holding a tender or providing receipts.
Mariano Araujo, the former Sarpanch of the Santa Cruz village panchayat, and other villagers gathered close to Salt Lake Ground, the site of the village feast fair.
According to the former Sarpanch, Sarpanch Jennifer De Oliveira allegedly carried out a massive scam by assigning shops to vendors without providing receipts and without even the most basic of restrooms.
At the St. Cruz feast, tobacco sales and the contentious, unhealthy Gobi Manchurian stalls are permitted.
The vendors claim to have paid the fees when questioned. Locals and concerned citizens have drawn attention to the blatant illegalities.
