PANAJI: St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa, Rosary College, Navelim marched into the finals of the Inter-Collegiate Football Championship for Women, organised by Goa University.
At Goa University Ground In first semi-final, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa crused to the final by defeating D.
M’s College and Research Centre, Assagao 3-0. In the first half, St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa scored two goals, both were scored by Pushpa Parab. In the second half, St. Xavier’s College, continued their offensive play and scored another one goal which came from Jwella D’Souza, which sealed the victory for St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa 3-0.
In second semi-final at Goa University Ground, Rosary College, Navelim registered a comfortable victory over Don Bosco College, Panjim by full time score of 2-0.
In the first half, both the team strengthened their defence and very few offensive play during the match resulting the score 0-0 at the end of the first half. In the second half, Rosary College showcasing strong offensive play, netted two goal which were scored by Lillian Fernandes and Aniela Barretto to register a 2-0 victory and confirmed their seat in the finals.
Final is scheduled on 16/10/2023 were the defending champions Rosary College, Navelim will play against St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa at Goa University Ground at 10 a.m.
