PANAJI: In the wake of a tragic stampede at the Lairai Zatra in Shirgao, which claimed six lives and injured over 30 people, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has directed the suspension of all government programs for the next three days.
The annual religious event, held at the Lairai Devi Temple, witnessed an overwhelming crowd, leading to the deadly incident. Authorities are investigating the cause while ensuring medical aid to the injured.
