Panaji: Aam Aadmi Party has slammed the BJP Govt for fooling the people of Goa with empty announcements. Reminding that two weeks have passed since the Statehood Day announcements, spokesperson Valmiki Naik demanded to know the date when the schemes would be notified.
“CM Sawant should not toy with the emotions of those who have lost family members to covid, or use the pandemic victims for his political jumlas. Who is eligible for the ex-gratia scheme? What is the income limit? What documents are to be submitted? Where should the bereaved family apply? None of this information is available more than two weeks later”, Naik said.
Naik said that if the CM is really interested in helping families who are economically weak or have lost an earning member, then the time to help is now. Stating that such families are struggling to afford school fees, pay electricity bills, or even put food on the table, Naik demanded to know if the CM’s words were ever going to turn into reality.
“Sawant has a history of making fake announcements, especially related to monetary schemes. We remember his grand announcement of 20% pay raise and 50 lakh insurance cover for frontline health workers made more than a year ago. Can he tell how many Corona warriors have been given these benefits? Sawant should be ashamed of himself for lying so blatantly”, Naik mocked.
Stating that money from existing schemes like DYSS and Griha Aadhar itself haven’t reached the beneficiaries in months, Naik said the BJP Govt and Sawant have lost all credibility when it comes to making promises to the people.
