PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that State government has decided to re-commence classes of Std IX, X, XI and XII in physical or offline mode from Monday.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant made announcement to this effect after the meeting of the Task Force Committee appointed to advise the govt in the matter.
Department of Education will issue guidelines to the schools as regards covid appropriate behavior to be followed by teachers and students.
“Responsibility has to be taken by school managements, teachers and parents. If any child develops any symptoms like fever, cough, body ache etc, the child will have to be referred to the nearest Primary Health Center for advice. Starting of classes for lower divisions will be considered after Diwali vacation,” informed Task Force Committee members.
The Goa Education Department recently said that High Secondary Schools in Goa will hold Class 11 and 12 examinations offline.
The Director of Education, Bhushan Savaikar, said that the request to conduct the examination in offline mode has been given from many schools and the authority ensured that the schools will adhere to strict Covid guidelines.
Classes will be conducted by 50 per cent capacity, and the students have to wear masks all the time. There is a need to maintain social distancing and follow all Covid 19 protocols.
“Only vaccinated staff shall be allowed in the school premises. Those who cannot produce a vaccination certificate shall be allowed after producing the negative report of the RTPCR test. Such report shall be valid for seven days, and a fresh report shall be produced after the seventh day,” the circular read.
