PANAJI: The Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), Goa, has issued an advisory directing food business operators and the general public to immediately stop the sale, purchase and consumption of certain recalled substandard ghee products and unsafe cumin powder.
The recalled ghee products manufactured by M/s SDP Industries Pvt. Ltd., Survey No. 54/2, 54/2A and 54/2B, Village Dabhel, Daman, include Shree Saras Ghee (loose), Gokul Cow Ghee, Shree Saras Cow Ghee, Shraddha Cow Ghee and Shraddha Ghee, covering all batches.
The advisory also covers Everest Cumin Powder, pre-packed, Batch No. E080668761, manufactured by M/s Everest Food Products Pvt. Ltd.
The action follows orders issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on September 21 and October 1, 2026, concerning products found to be substandard and unsafe.
The FDA has directed wholesalers, distributors, retailers, departmental stores and online delivery platforms operating in Goa to immediately halt the sale of the listed products.
Existing stocks have been ordered to be removed from shelves, isolated and reported to the respective local Food Safety Officer.
The Directorate has also advised consumers not to purchase or consume the recalled products. Those who have recently purchased any of the listed products have been advised to discontinue their use immediately.
The FDA warned that strict legal action would be taken against persons found stocking or selling the recalled products.
