PANAJI: MGP Supremo Sudin Dhavalikar today informed that the Water level of Mhadei river has come down to zero for almost 20 Km stretch of its basin due to diversion of water by Karnataka.
Dhavalikar also produced photographs of the dried Mhadei river basin taken by Environmentalist Madhu Gaonkar during the last 3 days, to corroborate his statements.
“Mhadei has slipped out of our hand. Water has been diverted to Malaprabha river through Kalsa Bhandura project,” Dhavlikar lamented. CM Sawant needs to bring this to notice of Prime Minister Modi, he asserted.
Meanwhile, a joint team of superintending engineers of Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra are together scheduled to visit the Kalasa site in Kankumbi tomorrow, March 19 for an inspection as per directions of the Supreme Court
