MARGAO: The Fatorda Forward Panel led by Goa Forward party President Vijai Sardesai, won 9 out of 13 seats in the Margao Municipal Polls. Reacting on his candidates’ thumping victory, he said, “Fatordekars have voted for a Future Ready Fatorda. They have endorsed the truth that Team Goa represents the true ambition of the people, and stands for their needs, and our collective future. Goa cannot progress until all Goans are able to fulfil their dreams and live a prosperous life. Despite the scare and risk of the Pandemic, the people have come forward and have put their trust, their faith and their hope in the Fatorda Forward panel and the Margao Civic Alliance”.
The Fatorda MLA further said, “I want to open our doors and hearts to all the people, and I want to clearly state that we will always listen to you, we will always be with you, and we will always support you. This is our Goemkar promise, our united promise, and our promise of a Future Ready Fatorda”. He said that Fatordekars have proved that ‘development by consent’ is the way forward. “We are grateful and thankful to them for putting their faith in Fatorda Forward. From the beginning of our campaign, we have always emphasized that we will work to build a Fatorda ready for our future generations. That opportunity has come now”.
Vijai added: “Our Fatorda Forward candidates have shown true determination, leadership and courage in this fight. I want to congratulate and wish our 9 winning candidates the best of luck ahead. I also thank our remaining 4 candidates who have fallen short this time; they will continue to play a central role in the party, and be instrumental in the forward march of Fatorda and of Goa”.
“I also want to take the opportunity to thank all our workers, supporters and sympathisers for the great result we have achieved. This would not have been possible without their dedication, hard-work, and sincerity in putting Fatorda first” said Vijai Sardesai. He said that the Fatorda Forward panel has fought the full machinery of the government, the joint venture candidates and all those in government positions who have tilted towards the BJP. With this mandate, the people have bared their hearts and minds, and emphatically stamped their approval for a local, regionalistic party, with a regionalistic vision and commitment, that will put Goa and Goans in the front, apart from ensuring future readiness for our city and state.
Vijai also thanked his alliance partner from Model Margao panel led by Digambar Kamat, and all their affiliated supporters and well wishers. Our Team Goa approach has certainly paved a way forward for a united Goa and we are certain that this alliance will continue to strengthen and unite all the people of Goa in safeguarding our state and our culture, and also in realising our aspirations, said Vijai.
