The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has assured the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) that the tender for setting up of proposed Solid Waste Management facility at Bainguinim, will be floated within ten days.
The assurance was given during a meeting held today, which was chaired by Chief Minister and attended by Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo, Panjim MLA Atanasio Monserrate, CCP Commissioner Sanjit Rodrigues, Mayor Uday Madkaikar, and others.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Lobo said that the tender document is ready and the same would be floated next week.
The Minister said that Goa Waste Management Corporation (GWMC), the nodal agency for implementing the project, has followed all the legal procedures for setting up the facility.
CCP Mayor Uday Madkaikar said that CM has assured that the tender for the project will be floated within ten days.
Rs 240 crore facility will come up at 1.71 lakh sq mtrs of land at Bainguinim. The centralized facility will treat 250 tons of waste per day.
