PANAJI: The Goa Table Tennis Association has launched an intensive High Performance Coaching Camp aimed at sharpening the skills of Goa’s top ranked paddlers and preparing them for higher level national competition. The camp, currently being held at Fatorda in Margao from May 17 to May 29, 2026, has brought together some of the state’s most promising young table tennis talents for advanced training and competitive development.
Powered by Ultimate Table Tennis and conducted by the South Goa Table Tennis Council, the camp is being supervised by Head Coach R. Rajesh, an International Table Tennis Federation Certified Level 3 Coach with a Star rating. He is also recognised as the first international player to achieve this prestigious certification.
A total of 22 leading paddlers from Goa are participating in the programme. The boys’ group includes Chandan Caro, Dhruva Kamat, Ruhaan Shaikh, Vedant Wagle, Ishaan Colaso, Ashank Dalvi, Yuvan Sanke, Neil Sanke, Aarish Shaikh and Ayushi Sahkari. The girls’ contingent features Ishita Colaco, Anaya Shukla, Shaurya Desai, Aarna Lotlikar, Sachi Desai, Ayushi Amonkar, Tisha Shaikh, Giana George, Urvi Surlakar, Claire George, Twisha Kotkar and Samaira Verlekar.
The training camp focuses on technical refinement, tactical awareness, fitness, match preparation and mental conditioning, providing players with exposure to high performance coaching standards. Sessions are designed to help paddlers improve consistency and compete more effectively at national ranking tournaments.
Speaking about the initiative, GTTA President Sudin Verenkar said the standard of table tennis in Goa has seen significant growth in recent years. He noted that structured high performance camps are helping players narrow the gap between state and national level competition and added that the association intends to organise similar camps regularly to further strengthen Goa’s table tennis ecosystem.
