VASCO: A day after the brutal Baina murder, the Goa Police said that five people were involved in the murder, and three are absconding.
Mormugao DySP Rajesh Kumar, speaking to Goemkapronn, said that. Prima facie, the police felt four accused involved in the murder, but later it came to teh fore there was another fifth guy involved.
“Two accused, Amir Hussain and Deepak Sahani, were arrested by Ponda police on Monday night, and these accused were produced before the JMFC and have been granted seven days of police custody,” said the DySP.
He said the accused have been arrested under sections 143, 148, 341, 323 and 302 of IPC besides the arms act.
Rajesh Kumar also said the police are investigating the number of weapons used in the crime, as two have already been recovered.
“The autopsy shows the cause of death as injury to lungs,” he said.
DySP reiterated that the motive of the crime was the previous enmity.
“This is not a case of gang war but a rivalry between two persons. Both accused arrested have criminal cases registered and awaiting trials,” he said.
He said the body was handed over to the family for the final rites.
