PA NAJI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bengaluru on August 26 to congratulate the scientists of the Indian Space and Research Organisation (ISRO).
After arriving at the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) airport, Modi while addressing thousands of people gathered to welcome him, said that not only in India but every individual in the world who believes in science.
Further PM Modi also announced that the spot where Chandrayaan-3’s moon lander landed, that point will be known as ‘Shivshakti’.
PM Modi said: “Today, I am feeling a different level of happiness…such occasions are very rare…this time, I was so restless…I was in South Africa but my mind was with you: PM Modi at ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru.”
“I wanted to meet you all, salute you as soon as I landed in India,” PM Modi said as he got emotional while addressing ISRO scientists in Bengaluru on the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s surface.
Remembring the moments of Chandrayaan-3’s landing, he said, “…Meri aakhon ke saamne 23 August ka vo din vo ek ek second baar baar ghoom raha hai…”
“This is India, which thinks innovatively and uniquely. This is the India which goes to dark zones and illuminates the world by spreading light,” PM Modi added while addressing ISRO scientists in Bengaluru.
This is no ordinary achievement; it’s a roaring announcement of India’s scientific achievement in the infinite universe, the Prime Minister added.
PM said: “India is on the Moon, we have our national pride placed on the Moon.”
The Prime Minister named the landing site of Chandryaan-3 ‘Shiv Shakti Point’, adding “Shiv Shakti Point will stand testimony to India’s scientific advancement, commitment and temperament for future generations.”
“Women scientists played a key role in Chandrayaan 3..this ‘Shivkshakti’ point will inspire the upcoming generations to use science for the welfare of people. The welfare of people is our supreme commitment..”, the Prime Minister said at ISRO Telemetry Tracking & Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru.
He also named the touch-down point of Chandryaan-2. He said that it was supposed to be done earlier but it was decided that when Chandryaan-3 would land on the Moon, only then the naming of both points would take place. PM Modi named the touch-down point of Chandryaan-2 as ‘Tiranga’.
“The spot on the lunar surface where the Chandrayaan-2 left its footprints in 2019 will be known as ‘Tiranga’. This will be an inspiration for every effort made by India. it will remind us any failure is not final..,” he said.
The Prime Minister also declared to observe August 23, the day when Chandrayaan-3 landed on the Moon, as National Space Day. “India will celebrate August 23 as National Space Day to mark the successful touch down of Chandrayaan-3 mission’s lander.”
