PERNEM: Chandrakant Bandekar, 55, of Sankral, Torse, was found murdered at Bhom, Mopa, and his body was found on an internal road near Bhom Maidan, on Friday evening.
There were sharp injury marks on the body of Chandrakant Bandekar,
Pernem police were informed after the body was found in the evening at Bhoma, Mopa. Prima facie, it seemed like the Chandrakant was stabbed to death with a sharp knife.
The body is marked with a sharp weapon, and a discussion is going on as to who committed the murder and why.
A panchnama was conducted by Pernem police inspector Jivba Dalvi at the spot were found the body.
Chandrakant’s Activa two-wheeler GA11F7142 was found at the spot where the body was found. Chandrakant was involved in the sand business at Sankral Patradevi, and locals say he was a good-natured man. Police sent the body to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim for autopsy.
His wife and a 22-year-old daughter survive Chandrakant.
Police are investigating who committed the murder and why.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant visited the Mopa area, and on the same day, a murder was reported in the area. When the Chief Minister came to Mopa, he was accompanied by many police and government officials.
