FARORDA:
A Two-Day Orientation Program and Workshop (Grade I) for Goa Coaches was organised by the Goa Table Tennis Association, on April 5 and 6, 2024, at the Multipurpose Stadium in Fatorda, Margao. Led by Head Coach R. Rajesh, an esteemed ITTF (International Table Tennis Federation) Certified Level 3 Coach with a Star rating, and the first international player to achieve this prestigious certification, the event aimed at enhancing coaches’ skills and knowledge in table tennis. Over the course of two intensive days, participants were equipped with essential and advanced table tennis techniques, session planning strategies, coaching principles, and contemporary training methodologies grounded in scientific principles.
“The workshop was organised to not only provide invaluable insights but also update our coaches on the latest trends and advancements in the sport, thereby preparing our coaches for further TTFI certifications. To boost the game and develop the pool of talent in Goa, a good number of trained coaches are required which was lacking. We are extremely pleased that a number of young local players and coaches came forward to avail the training which will further the growth and development of table tennis in Goa”, stated Sudin Verenkar, the Goa TT Association President.
