New Delhi: In a significant boost to India’s global diplomatic outreach against terrorism, the United Arab Emirates and Japan have extended their firm support for New Delhi’s campaign to expose Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terrorism. The outreach follows the launch of Operation Sindoor, India’s strategic response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed numerous civilian lives.
As part of this initiative, the first of seven all-party delegations—led by Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde and JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha—arrived in the UAE and Japan, respectively, on Thursday. The delegations are engaging with foreign officials to present India’s case against Pakistan’s continued support of cross-border terrorism.
UAE Backs India’s Diplomatic Mission
The delegation in the UAE, led by MP Shrikant Shinde, held its second round of meetings with UAE parliamentary counterparts, briefing them on India’s position and detailing evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in sponsoring terrorism.
In a strong show of support, UAE officials reassured India of their solidarity and stressed that, “Islam does not teach the killing of innocent civilians.” Earlier in the day, the Indian team also met with Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, in Abu Dhabi.
The delegation included prominent Indian figures such as BJP MPs Bansuri Swaraj and Atul Garg, senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Manan Kumar Mishra, IUML’s ET Mohammed Basheer, BJD’s Sasmit Patra, BJP’s SS Ahluwalia, and former diplomat Sujan Chinoy.
Japan Declares Its Solidarity With India
In parallel, the delegation in Japan, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha, received a strong endorsement from Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya. During discussions, Iwaya stated, “In this fight against terrorism, Japan stands with India,” signalling Japan’s commitment to supporting India’s efforts on the global stage.
India’s Message: Zero Tolerance for Terrorism
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also reiterated India’s firm stand on counter-terrorism, asserting that Operation Sindoor would continue and that India would not hesitate to strike back if terrorists operating from Pakistan attempt another attack.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a rally in Rajasthan—his first public appearance since the launch of Operation Sindoor—delivered a blunt warning to Pakistan. “Pakistan can never win a direct war with India, so it uses terrorism as a weapon. This went on for decades. But its drama won’t work anymore,” he declared.
He further emphasized that the multi-nation delegations currently deployed are working to unmask Pakistan’s true face before the global community. “We are exposing them to the world,” PM Modi asserted.
A Unified Global Outreach
With diplomatic missions active across key international capitals, the Indian government is pushing for a united global front against state-sponsored terrorism. Through Operation Sindoor and the coordinated outreach campaign, New Delhi is aiming not only to isolate Pakistan internationally but also to build stronger global alliances to combat terrorism in all forms.
