PANAJI: Union Minister for Fisheries Giriraj Singh today urged the Goa Fisheries Minister to take forward and adopt cage culture method of fishing.
He also said that the centre will be providing all the required technical and financial to the state for the formation of cage clusters.
Addressing the media, Singh said that he has urged the fisheries minister for Goa to implement and adopt the system of cage culture for fishing as this system of fishing is environmentally friendly.
“Central government will be providing all the required technical and financial to the state,” said Singh
Speaking on budget Singh claimed that the 2021-22 budget can be termed as Atmanirbhar Bharat and this budget will benefit all the communities in the country.
He said that the budget for National Animal Disease Control program increased by 71% Increase in AHIDF budget of Rs. 77 Cr. to Rs. 283 Cr. (Increased 267.50%).
“This will help in promoting Entrepreneurship in Animal Husbandry sector, said Singh
He further said that increase in RGM budget of Rs. 400 Cr. to Rs. 502.04 Cr. which will help in conservation and breed improvement of Indigenous cows. “Higher budget for credit facility in fisheries and animal husbandry,” he added
Meanwhile, Giriraj Singh yesterday had met CM Pramod Sawant, DyCM Chandrakant Kavlekar and Fisheries Minister. He also inspected fisheries jetties along with Goa minister.
