SANCOALE: An unidentified man, believed to be around 35 years old, was found dead near the railway track at Sancoale on September 27.
Police received information from SDH Chicalim at around 6.40 am that an unknown male had been brought dead from the Sancoale railway track by a 108 ambulance.
During the preliminary inquiry, police found that the deceased appeared to be a labourer. He is suspected to have died after being hit by a moving train while walking or attempting to cross the railway track.
An inquest panchanama was conducted over the body, which has been preserved at South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
Further inquiry is being conducted by PI Amarnath Passi of Vasco Railway Police Station.
