At Vaddie ground in the CLCAC committee tournament Under the patronage of Captain Venzy Viegas, MLA of Benaulim constituency, In an exhilarating football final Varca Veterans triumphed over Seraulim Veterans with a narrow 1-0 victory.
The match kicked off with both teams eager to score early, showcasing a fast-paced and dynamic game. Romeo and Tennyson of Varca displayed excellent teamwork, but the first half ended goalless.
After the break, Seraulim intensified their efforts, with Steven and Jess Cardozo consistently testing Varca’s goalkeeper, Romeo Pereira. Just as the game seemed destined for a tiebreaker, Narcisco clinched the victory for Varca with a decisive goal from a corner kick taken by Tennyson. culminating in a well-deserved victory for Varca Veterans.
Benaulim MLA Captain Venzy Viegas, the chief guest, presented the winners with the rolling trophy alongside other dignitaries. The following awards were given: Best Forward to Tennyson Rosa (Varca Veterans), Best Goalkeeper to Romeo Pereira (Varca Veterans), Man of the Finals to Steven Fernandes (Seraulim Veterans), Best Midfielder to Romeo Vaz (Varca Veterans), Best Defender to Sandeep Shanke (Seraulim Veterans), and the First Goal of the Final to Narcisco (Varca Veterans).
