PANAJI: Vasco police on Monday arrested the driver of the Maruti Swift car involved in the Shantinagar Fatal self accident that had injured one occupant and led to the death of another occupant
Vasco police sources said that David Cruz (20), a resident of Kharewado was arrested for rash and negligent driving endangering human life
“The accused driver David D’Cruz drove his Maruti car ( GA01E6398 ) along with other occupants in a rash and negligent manner while endangering human lives while proceeding from Varunapuri towards Dabolim Airport side. When he reached Sanjay Engineering Services at Shantinagar, he lost control of the vehicle and went out of the road and dashed the railing of one of the houses of Alfredo Almeida, situated on the road and thereafter flung in the air and fell on the below house on the parked Mahindra Jeep car (GA02 C7241) thereby causing grievous injuries to the occupant Saharsh Bhosale and another occupant Sanjyot Borker (19) who succumbed to the sustained injuries while undergoing treatment at GMC Bambolim. The police have registered an offence under sections 281, 125 (b), 106 of the BNS upon the enquiry into the Unnatural death case registered under section 194 of BNS. The driver David D’Cruz has been arrested by the Vasco police ” said the source.
PSI Rohan Nageshkar is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
