VASCO: Verna police on Wednesday arrested Sandeep Harijan, a resident of New Vaddem, Vasco, but a native of Hubli Karnataka for illegal possession of 575 grams of Ganja worth Rs 57,500/-,
Verna police sources said that the accused was caught red-handed.
at open ground, opposite Shri. Birla Radha Krishna Mandir, Zuarinagar, Sancole during a narcotics raid.
The accused person has been arrested in the above crime Under sections 20 (b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act 1985 and PSI Nikhil Dessai is carrying out a further investigation under the supervision of PI Melson Colaco and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
Meanwhile, Mormugao Police arrested two persons, Karan Waghmare, a resident of Mormugao and Bhavesh Kudalkar, a resident of Vaddem, Vasco, for possession of 50 grams of ganja each.
Mormugao police sources said a narcotic raid was conducted upon specific and reliable information, and both the accused persons were caught red-handed while having illegal possession of narcotics Substance 50 grams each suspected to be Ganja, a total worth of Rs. 10000/-.After the investigation, both the accused persons were arrested in the crime Under sections 20(b) (ii) (A) of NDPS Act 1985. ” said the source.
Further investigation is with PSI Saidatta Naik of Mormugao police station.
