PORVORIM: Goa Forward Party President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai mentioned the issue of fraud perpetrated by cooperative credit societies in Goa.
Since 2016, these societies have allegedly been duping the hard-earned money of Goa citizens. He raised the issue in the Goa Assembly on Tuesday.
Later on, sharing the same through his ‘X’ wall, he said, “Today I raised the alarming issue of cooperative credit societies that have been duping Goans since 2016 of crores of rupees”, he said.
“Despite the information that managers and directors are involved, no action has been forthcoming from the Economic Offences Wing of the Government of Goa. I also demanded the Goa Chief Minister to fast track the investigation of the financial fraud at Mashel Mahila Co-operative Credit Society which has a case filed against them in 2021 for duping investors but no action has been taken yet”, he added.
