What is shocking is the new extra energetic Town and Country Planning Minister Vishwajit Rane crossed all his limits and put all his strength into exposing Opposition leader Michael Lobo’s illegalities in the Outline Development Plans and his businesses. All that is fine; illegalities by anyone, if any, cannot be tolerated.
But Vishwajit went an extra mile to see that he shut down Lobo’s restaurant Pisco by the beach in Anjuna on some flimsy grounds. He used entire FDA machinery to get the restaurant shut, only to get a stick from High Court.
He went on to say that whoever it may be, he would not allow any illegalities in Goa, and BJP is not a washing machine to clean all the illegalities. He also called Micahel Lobo and his wife criminals.

It has been a week since Goemakrponn exposed the blatant violation by BJP’s Pernme MLA Pravin Arlekar in Guirm fields, but still, he has not attracted the attention of the “overcharged” TCP minister Vishwajit Rane.
A complaint of Illegal landfilling of 8775 sq. mtrs by Pravin Arlekar (MLA Pernem & his spouse Pallavi Pravin Arlekar in Guirim Village of Saligao in survey no. Survey no.5/2 in low lying area which is Agricultural land Arlekar has made small plots and sold them to people wherein cottages and villas have been built.

However, all the energy and overconfidence of the minister seems to be missing whenever there are BJP leaders involved.
Be it the controversial bungalow in the heritage zone at Old Goa or the illegalities by the BJP MLA Pravin Arlekar, the minister, who calls himself the “saviour” of Goa, just turns a blind eye.
Does this mean that BJP workers and leaders have special rights to carry out any kind of illegalities in Goa?
We have already exposed how the Opposition is hand in glove with this minister and refused to question him on the issue simply because the so-called Opposition leaders, who pounced on Govind Gaude on the Kala Academy issue, simply find no interest in the above matters, which are of utmost importance.
That is understandable as these leaders have their own axe to grind; they have so many illegalities that now they fear if they corner the minister on these issues, the skeletons may tumble from their own cupboards.
The way Rane went on filing FIR against Michael and Delilah Lobo, why can’t he do the same in the case of Pravin Arlekar? Why there is no FIR against the owners for the hill cutting at Vaghueri.
The Vaghueri issue has been swept under the carpet simply because of one “Pratapsingh Rane”, one of the property owners.
So these people – BJP leader Shaina NC’s husband Manish Munnot, BJP MLA Pravin Arlekar and Pratapsingh Rane have become holy cows for the TCP department and Minister Vishwajit Rane.
Despite the leaders demanding to know when the controversial bungalow at Old Goa would be demolished, Rane seems to be hiding behind the court case, stating the case is sub-judice, and he cannot do anything as of now.
The minister also claims that he would not withdraw provisional approval of 6200 cases under 16B; one wonders what stops him from scrapping the entire amendment to the law? What stops him from scrapping the 16B clause in the TCP act?
He may pretend to be the “saviour” of Goa, but he has been exposed by his deed before teh people of Goa.
