CANACONA: The youth needs to be allowed to participate in decision-making processes and have their voices heard, stated Capt Viriato Fernandes.
The newly elected MP (South) Capt Viriato Fernandes was speaking recently at the felicitation function of the meritorious students in SSC Examination-2024 of Shree Katyayani Baneshwar Vidyalaya, Kindlem Canacona.
Speaking further, Fernandes asked the students to decide on their own destiny with hard work and dedication, rather than to depend on tutors. ‘SSC is just a stepping stone, a foundation for your career.’, Fernandes went on explaining to the students his personal academic ladder and how teachers shaped his destiny and led him to be one of the Defence personnel in the country. Stating whatever career the students chose, Fernandes called on the students to preserve Goa’s land and protect the environment for future generations.
Capt Viriato as the Chief Guest further in his speech highlighted the collective efforts of students, teachers, parents and management in ten special categories congratulating them for the outstanding 97% results with eleven first class, twelve second class and two pass classes.
Meritorious and other successful students of Institute de Educasao Progressivas Shree Katyayani Baneshwar Vidyalaya, Kindale-Panasule were recently felicitated for their excellent performance in the S.S.C examination held in April 2024.
Rajesh Desai, Secretary of the Managing Committee and Mrs. Sobita Borges, Chairman of the Parents-Teacher Association also spoke on this occasion.
Damodar Desai, Suhas Desai and Mahabaleshwar Desai were sitting on the dais. Mahadev Desai, Shantaji Naik Gaonkar, Chandranath (Shekhar) Desai and others were present on this occasion.
Earlier, Headmaster Benny Fernandes welcomed the guests, Bhavna Desai appreciated the efforts of the students while Shraddha Shetkar proposed a vote of thanks. The program was moderated by Anita Mengde. **
