PANAJI: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai said he will hold the state government accountable and responsible to the Goan people in the upcoming Assembly session.
Vijai was addressing the media after the Janata Darbar meeting at the Goa Forward office in Panaji.
“As a regionalist political force, we are committed to raising issues that directly concern Goa and Goemkars, and this time too, in the upcoming Assembly Session, we will hold the govt accountable and responsible to the Goan people,” said Vijai.
He further said that he has personally heard their issues and grievances from across the state, and will bring up as many as I can in the House.
“My advice to BJP Goa who will be planning to bulldoze the opposition, is that in a democracy, remember, the people are always in the majority,” he added.
Speaking on Kala Academy, Vijai said that the frustration and anger of Goa’s art community is genuine and understandable as they see their esteemed institution being ravaged by corruption and incompetence right in front of their eyes.
“We as a party had taken this up from day one, and have gone to court against the art and culture minister who, along with his party has, in the name of renovation, squeezed the life out of it,” he added.
Sardesai also said that his party and he will leave no stone unturned to reclaim this pride of Goa for the people of Goa, and bring the looters to justice.
