PANAJI: The Goa government will once again press the departing Chairman P M Scot to call a meeting and carry out an inspection of the Mhadei river basin, even though the Central government has not yet reconstituted the Mhadei Progressive River Authority for Welfare and Harmony (PRAWAH).
Minister of Water Resources Subhash Shirodkar that the Chairman will receive a reminder letter this week.
“There used to be a code of conduct. Now that it has been lifted, we will remind the PRAWAH Chairman to call the meeting this week,” he stated.

The current chairman of PRAWAH, a member of the Central Water Commission (CWC), was appointed for a three-month period, or until a regular chief was appointed, or until further orders. As a result, the Union Ministry is expected to appoint a new head for PRAWAH.
In order to select new full-fledged members, the Center has sent Goa, Karnataka, and Maharashtra new recruitment guidelines.
Subhash Chandra, IAS, the Secretary WRD on the Authority, currently represents Goa, while Milind Naik, the Chief Engineer of WRD for the Konkan division, represents Maharashtra and Rakesh Singh (IAS), the Additional Chief Secretary WRD, represents Karnataka.
