PANAJI: Inspectors from the Department of Legal Metrology, Goa, conducted inspections against vendors selling cigarettes from other countries on World No Tobacco Day.
After inspecting about forty-six cigarette shops, the Legal Metrology officers filed complaints against ten of the shops for breaking the 2011 Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules.
Throughout Friday, various teams from the Legal Metrology department conducted raids.
The authorities have pledged to conduct the raids on a regular basis.
