PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today informed that starting this afternoon, health department will begin admitting COVID19 patients to the newly built Super Speciality Block of the GMC.
CM also informed PM has asked the state to conduct audit of oxygen supply, production and requirements.
“I have already spoken to the department and they will be admitting COVID19 patients to this new facility starting this afternoon. This new facility has a 20,000 litres of oxygen tank,” said CM Sawant
CM informed that 150 COVID patients will be shifted to the new block. He said that all 150 beds have pipeline oxygen installed.
“PM Narendra Modi has inquired about COVID situation in Goa; along with other States, we are also asked to do entire Oxygen Audit & so I have given instructions to do the same,” he said
He further said that directions have been issued to take steps to have step up hospitals at Dr Shama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium where in Patients who do not require oxygen can be kept and treatment can be given.
“Two more step up hospitals in Chicalim and Cansaulim will be operational by 5 May 2021. Also such hospitals can be set up one in each block, at Pernem, Bicholim, Valpoi, Canacona and Curchorem” he added
