MARDOL: Shashikant Mahadev Gawde, 22, of Phanaswadi-Naveli, was taken into custody by Mardol police about the theft of 411 centring sheet plates that were being used for construction in Kundaim.
In addition to seizing the car used to steal the license plates, police also received a complaint from contractor Sevinder Kohli on Sunday night at the police station.
The centring plates were rented by the contractor that completed the construction at Kundaim.
The accused had been observed by the contractor on May 5th, keeping the plates in a car, but the driver had left the scene. The contractor had to travel to Sawantwadi for work at the time, so no complaint was made.
The contractor returned on Sunday night and went to the Mardol police station to file a complaint.
The car that was used to steal the centring plates was also seized by the police, who also took the accused into custody.
Inspector Yogesh Sawant of the Mardol Police is guiding Sub-Inspector Sushant Sangodkar and Constable Suraj Gawde in their investigation of the case.
