OLD GOA: In a strong show of force aimed at maintaining law and order, Old Goa Police launched an intensive combing operation across multiple areas including Indiranagar-Chimbel, other parts of Chimbel, Merces, and Santa Cruz.
As part of the operation, police rounded up 252 individuals. Of these, 21 were arrested under preventive sections, while 12 others were booked under the Stranger Roll and other preventive actions.
The operation was conducted as a precautionary measure to counter potential threats and ensure the safety and security of residents in these areas.
Senior police officials stated that such drives help in identifying suspicious elements and deterring criminal activity in vulnerable zones.
Authorities have assured that similar operations will be carried out in the future as part of a proactive approach to law enforcement.
