PORVORIM: So far, 27 e-auctions have been conducted for the sale of iron ore at various locations all over Goa. The Government, vide order No. 03/54/2021/Major/Mines/2945 dated 31/01/2023, has directed all the successful bidders who have made full payment to lift the cargo on or before 31/03/2023, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant informed the House on Tuesday.
Sawant said that the process of cargo transportation from the auction’s primary location by various successful bidders is in progress.
“Therefore, the details of the quantity not lifted will be known only after 31/03/2023. The details of ore quantity, grade & places the iron ore is laying will be known only after 31/03/2023,” he said.
Further, Sawant also said that the Government has initiated process of auction of mining blocks in terms of the Mineral (Auction) Rules, 2015, as provided for under the Mines and Minerals (Development & Regulation Amendment Act, 2015.
“The Bidders are expected to do their own due diligence with regard to feasibility while quoting auction premium,” he said.
