VASCO: A 27-year-old sailor Usman Gani Ansari ( 27), a resident of Baina but a native of Gujarat died after drowning in a swimming pool at Raj Hans on Tuesday.
Vasco police sources said that they received information from INS Jeevanti Hospital, Gomantak informing that one person namely Usman Gani Ansari, was brought dead to casualty as a case of drowning in a swimming Pool at Raj Hans.
“During investigation, the police visited INS Jeevanti Hospital and conducted an enquiry where it was revealed that deceased Usman Gani Ansari, working as Sailor, Rank LEMA (R), at INS Hansa, Dabolim a native of Gujrat but a resident of Diwan Mathi Society, Patrong Baina was having a promotion test at GNA Swimming pool INS Hansa and while performing test drowned in the swimming pool and further he was brought at INS Jeevanti where he was declared dead. The police further conducted inquest panchnama and scene panchnama and the dead body was preserved at SGDH Margao for further medico-legal formalities,” said the source.
Vasco police registered a case of Unnatural death Under section 194 of BNSS PSI Palto Carvalho of Vasco Police Station is carrying out a further investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
