PANAJI: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar today said that Congress has commenced talks of alliance with NCP in Goa as per the directions of national leaders of both the parties
“The party national leaders have taken a decision to combine the energies of both the parties to defeat BJP in Goa,” said Chodankar
He further said 5hat Congress and NCP leaders had a meeting in Delhi and that he was conveyed that he should sit with NCP President Jose Philip and start the talks.
He futher said that as a part of its pan-India initiative, Indian National Congress will hold Jan Jagruti Abhiyaan across all the 40 Assembly Constituencies of Goa from November 17 onwards.
Chodankar said that the abhiyaan would be a week-long exercise during which the Congress leaders would be visiting all the 40 Assembly constituencies.
“The leaders will interact with the people to create awareness on the rising inflation across the country,” he said adding that Goa is equally affected with the price rise.
Chodankar said that Jan Jagruti Abhiyaan is a part of nationwide exercise by All India Congress Committee (AICC). He said that all the leaders of Congress would be travelling to various constituencies covering the length and breadth of the state.
“The abhiyaan will begin in the morning and leaders will travel entire day. They will have breakfast, lunch at the residence of the Congress worker and if required, would stay back in the constituency,” he added.
Block Committee will continue the program by themselves after the week long Abhiyaan said Chodankar.
