CANACONA: Tragedy struck a Bangalore family on a Goa Tour as one family member drowned in the Sea while swimming at Rajbag-Tarir beach in Canacona early Thursday morning.
Clement Stenley, 29 years old drowned while taking a bath/swimming in the sea along with his parents and Sister at Rajbag -Tarir beach.
Life-savers rushed to the rescue and pulled out the 29-year-old and after valiant moves to bring back the unconscious lad, was simultaneously rushed to the CHC, where doctors declared the drowning victim dead.
The body is despatched to SGDH, Margao for postmortem.
According to Canacona police, the family of Four from Bangalore drove down to Goa in their own car on the 27th and had stayed at Palolem.
On Thursday morning, all four headed to Rajbag-Tarir beach and were enjoying the sea bath together, till a strong wave pulled Clement inside the Sea. The Parents (Father and mother) and Sister who were bathing in the Sea, raised an alarm, inviting the attention of Dristhi Life-Savers.
Life-Savers rushed on their Jet-ski and pulled out Clement, who was already unconscious from the seawater and brought him to the shore and made several unsuccessful attempts to revive him, before rushing the victim to the Community Health Centre (CHC), Canacona, where a doctor on duty declared brought dead.
Police further informed the deceased, a 29-year-old Musician by profession who is involved in. a Music School in Bangalore, while the father is Military Man and the mother is a Nursing Supdt in a Hospital. The family travelled to Goa in their own Car on 27th May.
LPSI Anjali Gaonkar is investigating the case under the supervision of Canacona PI Harish Raut Desai.
