PANAJI: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has granted bail to accused Khayyad Shaikh (35) in the Vilas Methar murder case.
Shaikh is accused of number two after Shailesh Shetty gets bail.
High Court of Bombay at Goa had earlier granted bail to accused Shailesh Shetty in the Vilas Methar case over a personal bond of 50 thousand rupees.
Shetty, currently on bail in a rave party case, was arrested for allegedly conspiring in the murder of Torda resident Vilas Methar on October 14.
Porvorim Police had arrested Shetty under Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
It may be recalled that Vilas Methar was waylaid and set ablaze on the afternoon of October 14, at Torda, Porvorim. Methar succumbed to the burn injuries at Goa Medical College and Hospital in Bambolim a day later.
The six other accused arrested in the case are Santosh Pillai (29), Altaf Yargatti (37), Khayyad Sheikh (35), Pawan Badigar (30), Prashant Dabholkar (36) and Ikbal Nanpuri (31).
