SANVORDEM: A 32-year-old man was found dead by hanging in Sanvordem, Curchorem, on Monday.
Police said they received information from Fahim Khan, a resident of Takaband, Cuncolim, reporting that his relative, Farhad Hassan Sheikh, had died by suicide. Officers visited the scene, where the deceased’s father, Hassan Sheikh, formally identified the body.
Police conducted a scene of unnatural death occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama. The body was then sent for post-mortem examination at South Goa District Hospital, Margao. The autopsy, conducted by the Police Surgeon, certified the cause of death as “asphyxia as a result of hanging.”
The deceased’s body was later handed over to relatives for final rites. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Prajyot Bakhale of Curchorem Police Station.
