BORIM: After being struck by a truck near Borim, a 42-year-old rider from Panivada-Borim was receiving treatment at Goa Medical College hospital when he passed away from his wounds.
Satish Gaude, a government employee stationed at the Ponda Deputy Collector’s office, passed away, and Sayyed Mohamad Rafique, a truck driver from Navelim, was taken into custody by Ponda police.
The truck was travelling from Margao to Honda when it collided with a scooter that was travelling in the same direction on a small road near Borim, according to the police.
After receiving critical medical attention at Ponda’s Sub District Hospital, scooter rider Satish Gaude was transferred to GMC Hospital for additional care, where he passed away. Gaude leaves behind his spouse and a young daughter.
Investigations are ongoing, and the panchanama was conducted by Ponda PI Tushar Lotlikar.
